About TAS 2026

The Together Against Stigma (TAS) Conferences are designed to foster multidisciplinary action on mental health stigma by breaking silos between disciplines and driving efforts from theory into practice.

To date, TAS has hosted ten international conferences, with an average participation of around 400 delegates annually. It serves as a global platform for sharing the latest scientific knowledge and practical experiences from researchers, practitioners, and advocates working to reduce stigma, prevent discrimination, and support affected individuals and communities.

TAS 2026 will strengthen the connection between scientific insight and real-world implementation through public-private ownership, helping translate what works into action at international, national, and local levels to promote safe, inclusive, and equitable societies.

For the first time, TAS is being organised in a low- and middle-income country. In India and similar settings, mental health care is often constrained by limited resources, a shortage of trained professionals, and persistent stigma and discrimination.

By bringing together leading experts, researchers, practitioners, and advocates, TAS 2026 aims to directly address these challenges, strengthen dialogue, improve help-seeking behaviour, and support better access to mental health care for those who need it most.
